We’re the VAST majority, we’re having fun & doing just fine. We like & dislike stuff but we do it with humor, love & respect. On social media a few unhealthy people can cast a big shadow on the wall, but over the past 4 years I’ve met lots of real fellow SW fans. Paige died in the Battle of DQar, which greatly upset Rose, who was aboard the Raddus during the evacuation. ![]() “The Last Jedi” director Rian Johnson tweeted that the “VAST majority” of “Star Wars” fans do it with “humor, love & respect.” That means a lot to me and I don’t think it will ever get old.” I feel so overwhelmed.” She added, “A lot of ‘Star Wars’ fans who are specifically Asian never had a character they could dress up like, or they would and people would always call them ‘Asian Rey’ or ‘Asian fill-in-the-blank.’ I get very emotional when I see people who are able to identify with this character. And some couldn’t help but argue that both Kelly Marie Tran and Rose Tico deserved better following the backlash they faced following The Last Jedi.At the “Last Jedi” premiere in December, Tran told Variety that bringing diversity to the “Star Wars” world has “been both an honor and a responsibility. As the process evolved, a few scenes we’d written with Rose and Leia turned out to not meet the standard of photorealism that we’d hoped for. We wanted Rose to be the anchor at the rebel base who was with Leia. ![]() One of the reasons that Rose has a few less scenes than we would like her to have has to do with the difficulty of using Carrie ’s footage in the way we wanted to. When asked about the buzz surrounding Kelly Marie Tran’s reduced role in the final installment of the Skywalker Saga, Chris Terrio was ready to offer an explanation connected to the late Carrie Fisher and the unused General Leia footage brought back for Episode IX: The latter sat down for a conversation with Awards Daily, where he addressed how he got involved with Star Wars and the challenges he faced as a screenwriter.
